When digital scales first appeared on the scene they changed the way objects were weighed. The weight measurements were now faster and more accurate. Digital technology removed the uncertainties that were inherent in the analog technology. It was a big leap forward and the industry adopted them eagerly and weighing operations worldwide became more efficient. Digital scales were lighter, portable and had very sleek designs, they were certainly very advanced when compared to the scales that existed before them. They were therefore a big commercial success.

And yet they could be improved upon significantly. Scales such as a pallet truck scale and a wireless scale add more conveniences to the basic digital scale. A pallet truck scale has a scale mounted on the pallet truck itself to improve the efficiency. A wireless scale does not require wires to carry power to a scale and a wire to carry the information from the scale. The scales uses a battery to provide power and the information is sent without wires.

The batteries last for a long time before they need to be recharged. And the fact that information of the weight measured can be sent without the use of wires to a remote location is a big help. The task of recording the weighed is made very simple. In fact the weight can directly get recorded onto a data device doing away with the need to manually record weights altogether.
