Cool Gadgets

We live in a pretty cool world with a lot of developmental progress in technology. Some of the different gadgets people come up with can be so neat and beneficial to our economy. Today, there are more gadgets than ever. A gadget is defined as any kind of device, particularly a mechanical device. In today’s world many different kinds of electronic devices are also considered gadgets. As stated above, there are so many different kinds of gadgets, and more are invented every day. Some can be very unique and irrelevant to most people, but other kinds of gadgets can play a very important role in the progress of our societies. Even for those kinds of gadgets that don’t necessarily benefit people as a whole, some can be beneficial to individuals based on their need for that particular item.

One of my favorite kinds of gadgets is watches. Not just plain old normal watches, but the kinds of watches that do something other than tell time. For example, there are watches that can: tell you your heart rate, how many steps you’ve taken, calculate distances, barometric pressures, elevation, external temperatures, give you direction from a built in compass and so forth. Today, many watches are becoming solar powered and increasing in their abilities to perform under water etc. In addition, some watches have built in laser pointers, cameras, voice recording capabilities, and even telecommunication functions. Recently, I came across a new kind of watch that is essentially a computer on your wrist. With this watch you can do everything from checking you email to surfing the internet.

Another kind of gadget many people like is binoculars and night vision devices. We all know what binoculars do, but today there has been much advancement that make them more than just devices for viewing objects at a distance. For example, some binoculars have range finding capabilities, are waterproof, are much more compact, have automatic focusing features, and some will even let you take a picture of the distant image you are viewing as it appears up close through your binoculars.
